Polyurethane implants consist of a silicone core covered by a layer of polyurethane designed to prevent the implant from shifting within the body and to reduce the risk of complications, such as implant displacement or sagging of the skin around the implant.
B-Lite implants are a relatively new technology gaining popularity due to their lightness. They are made of silicone gel but feature a cellular structure that makes them lighter than traditional silicone implants.
Scars resulting from incisions made around the areola or across its diameter can be virtually invisible if performed precisely at the junction of the skin and the areola. The quality of the scarring also depends on skin and areola pigmentation, as well as the body's individual healing characteristics. This method is excellent for women with large areolas. Furthermore, it provides uniform access to all areas of the breast. This approach enables "triple-plane augmentation," an excellent technique for inserting medium-sized implants—particularly those with a smooth surface. Typically, an underwire bra is required for six months following the procedure, along with a "Stuttgart" strap for two to three weeks.
Correction of "pigeon chest"—also known as *pectus carinatum*—addresses a developmental disorder that causes a protrusion in the sternal area. Although the condition poses no serious medical threat, it can lead to feelings of insecurity and psychological discomfort. Various treatment methods exist, with the choice depending on the severity of the case and the patient's preferences. Correcting this deformity using implants is performed via an endoscopic procedure.
A recommendation to remove an implant does not mean your breasts will be left misshapen or sagging. Plastic surgery procedures can restore—or even enhance—the beautiful appearance of your breasts. Once the implants are removed, the stretched skin needs to be tightened and the nipple and breast tissue lifted; in short, a mastopexy is required (link to mastopexy). The procedure is performed under general anesthesia (epidural anesthesia is exceptionally rare). Procedure duration depends on the type and scope of the surgery, followed by a post-operative observation period.

Following early recovery, periodic check-ups take place every 3 months, including monitoring implant integrity and position for augmented patients. A final follow-up including a breast ultrasound is conducted at 12 months to formally conclude treatment.
